An abundance of space in which to inhale deeply...

An abundance of space in which to inhale deeply…

Namibia is celebrated for its vast open landscapes... an abundance of space in which to inhale deeply and bask in an infinite supply of blue, sun-bright skies and star-filled nights. Its immensity of space – it is the fifth largest country in Africa – is accentuated by the fact that it is the driest country south of the Sahara. But life there is, and in many diverse forms, from the Himba, one of the last true nomadic tribes on Earth, to the unique desert-adapted elephant and the bizarre Welwitchia plant.

In the Sossusvlei area we experience magnificent views of the famous red sand dunes, breathtaking mountain scenery and vast open plains – Kulala Desert Lodge, situated on 37,000 hectares of a private wilderness area bordering the Namib-Naukluft Park, has these in abundance. We then travel all the way north to stylish Ongava Lodge, set along the southern boundary of Etosha National Park in the privately owned Ongava Game Reserve. From its beautiful vantage point overlooking a waterhole and the plains beyond, one can enjoy a plethora of game that arrives to drink. Its proximity to the National Park makes it the ideal base for exploring Etosha's kaleidoscope of wildlife.
